On Tuesday, 24th March, clients from our Community Programme enjoyed a rewarding and engaging day trip to Woburn Sands, combining practical learning with a chance to explore somewhere new.
The journey itself was an important part of the experience. Clients practised their travel training skills by walking to Bedford Train Station and catching the train together. This hands-on approach helps to build confidence, independence, and familiarity with public transport key skills for everyday life.
Once in Woburn Sands, the group spent time exploring the local area and visiting a selection of shops. It was a great opportunity for clients to practise social interaction, decision-making, and money management in a real-world setting.
The day concluded with a return train journey, rounding off a successful trip that balanced learning with enjoyment. Experiences like this are a vital part of the Community Programme, supporting clients to grow in confidence while developing essential life skills.
Overall, it was a fantastic day out, filled with progress, positivity, and plenty of smiles.
