Grow & Develop Your Skills

At Inspired, we believe that everyone has the potential to grow, achieve, and enjoy learning. No matter their age or background. As a small, independent learning provider, we pride ourselves on being flexible, responsive, and truly learner-focused. Our programmes are designed to meet the needs of both young people and adults, offering a person-centred approach that nurtures confidence, creativity, and independence.

With a high staff-to-learner ratio, our dedicated team provides the individual support and encouragement needed to help each client thrive. Whether it’s through art, enterprise, leisure, or work experience, we offer meaningful opportunities for personal and professional growth in a safe, welcoming environment.

Leisure & Workshops Inspired

Our Leisure Inspired programme provides activities that enable opportunities for clients to develop positive friendships, relationships and to be part of the community. Clients work as a team to research and plan their term through weighing up different options when making choices, such as budgeting, travel and time. Some activities include shopping, visiting garden centres, museums, parks, cooking and many more.

Our afternoon workshops offer activities that clients may not have experienced before which could become new hobbies or interests.

Skills For Life

This programme enables clients to develop and strengthen the essential skills needed for independent living. Through practical, hands-on activities, clients build confidence and develop the ability to feel safe and capable in their everyday lives.

Throughout the programme, participants design and create their own personalised recipe book, filled with simple and affordable meals they can prepare independently. This becomes a lasting resource they can continue to use beyond the programme, supporting long-term independence.

The sessions focus on everyday living tasks such as cooking and cleaning, while also developing problem-solving skills that promote resilience and autonomy. Clients learn how to write effective shopping lists, use shopping facilities confidently, manage budgeting, and carry out basic research to make informed decisions in daily life.

Newsletter Workshops

Clients on the Inspired programme have the opportunity to take on the roles of journalists and editors, contributing to the weekly YI newsletter. Working collaboratively, they research and gather information about what is happening both within YI and in the local community, ensuring the content is engaging and relevant. The finished newsletter is printed and also published on our website, giving clients the experience of producing work for a real audience.

Through this process, clients strengthen their communication skills, learn to work effectively as part of a team, and develop valuable leadership abilities. They gain hands-on experience in interviewing, editing, photography, and creating activities linked to events throughout the year. Clients also build their digital skills by using a range of IT software, including Canva, an online graphic design tool, to design and produce the newsletter to a professional standard.

Holiday Inspired

Activities designed to foster connection, creativity, and fun. Participants enjoy a diverse range of outings and experiences, including visits to the park and cinema, shopping trips, trampolining sessions, brunch outings, team challenges, and bake-off competitions.

The programme is rooted in client-led planning, with many activities shaped by ideas and suggestions shared through our client representative. This collaborative approach ensures the programme reflects the interests and preferences of those taking part, creating a sense of ownership and enthusiasm.

Above all, the programme provides a joyful and inclusive environment where friendships flourish and laughter is shared—making it a highlight of the holiday season

Creative Inspired

Explore a variety of digital techniques.  Clients will be able to challenge their creativity through different projects such as photography, animation, light boxes, stop motion, recording music, Pixel art and Movie Maker.

Community Inspired

An opportunity to explore and research places within Bedfordshire while gaining confidence in using public transport to access different facilities. Clients will also be encouraged to learn about various cultures and explore the diversity within the community.

Mindfulness Inspired

The activities that our clients will undertake will help them to understand self-awareness, teamwork and coping skills as well as learning to regulate different emotions. Being part of a group will be an important aspect of the programme as will the development of creative thinking and resilience. Clients can take part in sensory activities, arts and crafts, meditation and horticulture.

Health & Wellbeing

A programme designed to promote positive mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing. It will help clients to understand how to make choices to lead a positive lifestyle and help them build relationships that will support them to achieve this. Healthy eating and nutrition will be an important part of this. Activities include gardening, cooking, exercise, yoga and nature walks.

“I have learnt so much over the past 3 years and I will never forget. Being at Youth Inspired has been the best experience because I came as a shy young person with no confidence and I’m leaving as an adult who has grown so much as a person.”

“I have done many things I believed were impossible for me to achieve, and it has only been a couple months. I have since become far more confident in myself, my social skills and even how people view me.”
